Almost 100 Striders took part in our local Half Marathon race.

The strong sunshine and heat on the day took its toll and together with the traditional hilly course meant few records were broken – but runners appreciated the support from marshals and spectators along the way!

Heather Hann was fastest female Strider finishing on the podium as third lady in 1:25:16. Wendy Walsh was second in the FV50 category (and 20^th fastest lady overall) in 1:41:32, with Stacey Harris 3^rd in the same category in 1:43:50.

Fastest male Strider was Matthew Cooper finishing fourth in the overall race in an impressive time of 1:17:02. Matthew Holman and Jonathan Scott were close behind in 1:21:15 and 1:23:17. Scott was also 5^th fastest in the V40 category. John Cooper was fastest of the over-60s in 1:33:21 while Nigel Aston (1:30:50) was 5^th in the V50 category. Richard Witter achieved a personal best time of 1:34:01.
