Whether you are already an experienced runner or just taking up the sport your local running club welcomes you.

The Club was set up in 1984 to cater for people interested in road running and cross country and we have grown to a club of over 400 some who are fast and race often, others who have just started and are looking for a sociable way to keep fit.

Membership is open to runners aged 18 or over of all abilities. We meet at least twice a week with training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Saturday / Sunday informal runs are often organised within the club as well.

We organise three local races, the Fred Hughes 10 in January, the Summer Solstice 10k in June and the St Albans Stampede in September. We participate in 3 local race leagues to which all members get free entry, the Mid Week Road Race League (Summer) and 2 Cross Country Leagues (Winter).

If you want to join us you are more than welcome. Check out our when we train page for times. Joining for the current membership includes membership of England Athletics. You can train with others, learn new routes & meet new people. To find out more about joining and the cost please see the Joining Striders page.
