Striders were in abundance at the Southern Cross Country Championships on Saturday that turned out to be a bright, albeit, very chilly day. The course at Beckenham Place Park was challenging making it all the more appealing for our Striders! The senior women’s team had a solid representation finishing in 16^th

place out of 83 teams represented. First home for Striders was Hannah Rayden (54^th), followed by Lily Seach (75^th), Penny Habbick (89^th), Louise Bentham (190^th), Mandy Attree (254^th), Beth Hopla (297^th) and Diane Hunt (342^nd). The senior men’s team was also well represented finishing in 30^th place out of almost 100 teams represented. The first scorer was Ross May (186^th), followed by Edward Anders (221^st), Thomas Croft (265^th), Andrew Shaw (887^th), Richard Davis (883^rd), Steve Scorer (886^th), Nigel Aston (876^th), Anthony Nicholson (885^th), Mark Stevens (888^th), Colin Braybrook (879^th) and Anthony Bunker (881^st).

Other news, Jim King certainly had something to celebrate completing the Bedford 10 in 59.11 taking sixth place overall and 1^st place in the V50 category as well as setting a new V50 10 mile record! Congratulations Jim King!
