Striders were in abundance at the Southern Cross Country Championships on Saturday that turned out to be a bright, albeit, very chilly day. The course at Beckenham Place Park was challenging making it all the more appealing for our Striders! The senior women’s team had a solid representation finishing in 16th

place out of 83 teams represented. First home for Striders was Hannah Rayden (54th), followed by Lily Seach (75th), Penny Habbick (89th), Louise Bentham (190th), Mandy Attree (254th), Beth Hopla (297th) and Diane Hunt (342nd). The senior men’s team was also well represented finishing in 30th place out of almost 100 teams represented. The first scorer was Ross May (186th), followed by Edward Anders (221st), Thomas Croft (265th), Andrew Shaw (887th), Richard Davis (883rd), Steve Scorer (886th), Nigel Aston (876th), Anthony Nicholson (885th), Mark Stevens (888th), Colin Braybrook (879th) and Anthony Bunker (881st).

Other news, Jim King certainly had something to celebrate completing the Bedford 10 in 59.11 taking sixth place overall and 1st place in the V50 category as well as setting a new V50 10 mile record! Congratulations Jim King!
