Christmas celebrations didn’t stop lots of Striders getting out for races this week.

At the Buntingford 10 miler, which incorporated the British Masters Athletics Championships and the Hertfordshire Senior Road Running County Championship, there was a strong turnout of 13 Striders. This included a brilliant race for Andy Jordan (1:03:14), to make him British Masters Champion in his age category over 10 miles. Striders were successful across a range of age categories, with Stacey Harris third in her category (1:14:29), Deborah Steer second in hers (1:16:52) and Judy Willits seventh in her category (1:23:21). There were also PBs for Paul Stack (1:04:42), Adam Herron (1:08:01), Mark Stevens (1:10:43) and Joshua Steer (1:13:59), and for Megan Steer running for St Albans Athletic Club (1:08:23).

In the 10 mile race at Pednor, there were also several Striders racing. This included Doug Hobson, who was twelfth male (1:02:23), and Matthew Nicholls who was very close behind in fourteenth (1:02:39).
