Striders were back in action in the Chiltern League on Saturday, and the yellow-and-blue made their presence impossible to ignore on the infamous hills of Campbell Park, Milton Keynes.

The challenging course was no match for the travelling squad. Freya Weddell delivered a statement performance, storming to outright victory in the women’s race and firmly planting herself in the hunt for this season’s individual title. Hot on her heels, Christina Durbin powered through for a brilliant 7th-place finish, while Megan Walker, in superb form, crossed the line in 9th — giving the club an incredible three athletes in the top ten.

In the men’s race, Will Lindsey showed his versatility once again. Fresh off recent road success, he produced another mud-loving masterclass to claim second place overall. Strong runs from Adam Yorwerth (22nd) and Matthew Nicholls (24th) rounded out a quality top-three for the men.

The Striders will return to the mud next in Stevenage for the third instalment of the Sunday League on 21 December — and if this weekend is anything to go by, they’ll be arriving with serious intent.
