The Easter weekend kicked off with a splendid start at the St Albans Easter 10k on Friday, April 3rd. The Striders were out in full force, painting the course yellow and blue with an impressive 42-strong team ready to dominate.

Freya Weddell delivered a masterclass in distance running, storming across the finish line in a blistering 34:22. Her performance earned her 2nd place overall!

But the celebrations didn't stop there. It was a total women’s podium takeover for the Striders as Catherine O’Connor (36:56) and Kate Dixon (40:34) claimed the remaining spots, securing a historic 1-2-3 finish for the club.

On the men's side, the competition was fierce and decided by mere seconds. Sam Williams spearheaded the charge, clinching a fantastic 4th place overall with a time of 34:41. In an incredible display of pack running and grit, his teammates were hot on his heels in a frantic dash for the line. Patrick Hawker matched the pace perfectly, clocking in at 34:41, Patrick Hayes followed in rapid succession at 34:49, and Thomas Toyer rounded out the leading group at 34:52. With four men finishing within 11 seconds of each other, it was a spectacular showcase of the depth and talent within the Striders ranks!
