While it was a quieter week for Striders’ race results, that didn’t stop three Striders from completing an extremely impressive endeavour. Stephen Elkan (4.14), Richard Olney (4.36) and Kurt Gerber (3.49) retraced the steps of Pheidippides from 490 BC, running the Athens Authentic Marathon. Despite the brutal course, which is uphill from 10km to 31km, all three completed the feat in impressive times, with Kurt Gerber also running for charity. 

Even further afield, Carole-Anne Upton came a superb 13th out of 3,432 in the Great Eastern Women’s Run 10k in Singapore.
