The St Albans Striders membership year runs from April to March each year, concurrent with the England Athletics membership year.
Highlight of the week was the second fixture of the Mid-Week Road Race League, Striders’ own host race held on Wednesday at Highfield Park, St Albans. Currently, Striders are leading the overall competition. The men’s team came first in both the Senior and veterens competitions; and the women came second in both Seniors and vets. James McMurray came first overall with an impressive time of 31:28 and Hannah Burkhardt was the first woman Strider to finish in 40:16. Jim King also took the V50 10k record in an amazing time of 35:50 [pic credit Graham Smith].
Elsewhere, Max Campbell ran the Olympic Park Half Marathon on Saturday, finishing in overall 3rd place in a new PB of 1:26:27 [pic Max Campbell]. On Sunday, Spencer Grant ran Edinburgh Marathon, getting a PB of 3h40.
