As we move in to the warmer weather of spring time we also move into the Marathon and Half Marathon season. St Albans Striders were well represented across many events.

First out yesterday we had the Fox Ultra event in Surrey which consisted of 62 kilometres of very undulating terrain. Carrie Frazer finished as 3^rd lady in a time of 6.34:00 whilst Tom Toyer’s time was 6.28:38.

Stefano Federici finished 32^nd out of more than 3,500 runners at the Reading half marathon in a phenomenal time of 1.13:42.

In the Manchester marathon there were many Striders competing including Ruth Kent who completed the 26.2 miles in 3.48:32, Laura Lane in 3.59:50, Rose McGinness in 4.03:27, Laura Astley in 4.03:46 and Ben Thomas with a massive pb of 3.38:00.

And completing the London Landmarks half marathon were James Segal in 1.53:08 and Jim Hopkins in 1.59:42.

Matthew Cooper won the Essex marathon in an awesome pb of 2.34:55, whilst at the same race Anna Silkstone also achieved a pb of 3.46:36 and was second female.
