Hardy Striders Take On Chilly Hatfield 5 Mile Race

St Albans were well represented at the weekend 5-mile race in Hatfield with 27 Striders braving the cold temperatures on Sunday morning. Philip Evans was first home for St Albans finishing 14th overall and clocking a 5-mile PB (27:17). Jonathan Scott (17th) and Rory Marsh (47th) both managed to dip under the 30-minute mark. Freya Weddell (10th) was the first lady across the line with another impressive display (32:07) to add to her recent performances on muddier ground. Kate Dixon (34:00) and Katherine Henderson (36:34) completed the top 3 for the Striders women.

Further south in more forgiving temperatures, Caroline Bailes was in for a surprise as she took on the Jean Bouin 10K in Barcelona. Expecting a low-key local event, the Strider eventually toed the line to with 17000 runners in one of Spain’s oldest road races on its 100th anniversary!
