The Striders managed to squeeze one final race into 2022 at the Buntingford 10 mile on Friday. Steve Buckle led the Striders home finishing in 8th place out of a field of over 400 runners in 57.17, followed by Douglas Hobson in 26th place (1.02.35) and Anthony Nicolson (1.13.53). Deborah Steer and Stacey Harris both ran strong races finishing 1st and 2nd in their age category in 1.14.44 and 1.16.25 respectively.

Earlier in the week Lehna Gardiner completed her first race with her son at the Colchester 10k in 50.37, reflecting the regular buggy training she has been doing.

The annual year end Ashridge Estate social training run was well attended by club members despite the lashing rain. The coffee and cake at the end of the run never felt so deserved!

Heather Hann welcomed the new year with 3rd place in the Cleethorpes New Years 10K followed by a brave dip in the chilly North Sea afterwards. Further South, Ben and Jenna Scott completed the Broadstone 1/4 Marathon near Poole in 54.22 and 57.35 respectively.
