Pushing themselves to their absolute limits Thomas Toyer and Carrie Frazer completed 100 miles at the Centaur 100 event at Dorking on Saturday. Thomas recorded the fastest time overall in an impressive 17 hours and 50 minutes and Carrie was the fifth fasted finisher overall and second fasted female in an incredible 22 hours and 48 minutes. A fantastic achievement by both to cover such a staggering number of miles.
Stefano Federici and Matthew Holman completed a clean sweep at the NHRR Run Round the Garden event held on Sunday at Welwyn Garden City. They took on both events offered on the day with Stefano winning both the 5k and mile races in in 16.07 and 4.56 respectively and Matthew’s finishing runner up in both events in 17.23 and 5.02.
On Saturday, over 20 Striders travelled further afield as parkrun tourists, making their way to Gladstone Park in North London. The venue was selected to celebrate Gladstone Thompson’s birthday, one of the Strider’s valued coaches who completed his 236 parkrun at the event. Will Bowran was the first finisher in a time of 17.08 and Joshua Edwards came home in second place in 17.53.
