It was a day to remember for club athletes across multiple events, headlined by a podium finish and a string of personal bests in near-perfect racing conditions.

At the Manchester Marathon, Patrick Hayes delivered a superb performance on his England Masters debut, finishing third in the M45 category at the International Age Group Masters. Hayes crossed the line in an impressive 2:37:23, slicing two minutes off his previous best in a breakthrough run on the big stage.

There were also memorable milestones for several first-time marathoners. Nicola Trotman, competing at 59, completed her debut over the distance in 4:25:41, comfortably achieving her goal of breaking four and a half hours and finishing with clear delight. Alex Barell also marked his first marathon with a strong showing, clocking 2:50:19 in an assured performance.

Mike Trotman exceeded expectations with a 3:52:55 finish, while Jethro Offemaria showed remarkable determination to complete the course in 8:03:11, running in support of the National Autistic Society.

Further success came in the form of personal bests for Rebecca Dunbavand and Adam Dunbavand. Rebecca produced a standout run to cut 18 minutes from her previous mark, finishing in 3:25:07, while Adam also notched a PB with 3:11:28.

Elsewhere, John Cooper impressed at the Cambridge Biomedical 10K, finishing in 42:28—setting a new M65 club record in the process.

On the international stage, Richard Davis secured a bronze medal in his age group at the European Duathlon Championships in Alsdorf, Germany, completing the demanding run-bike-run format in style to round off an excellent day of competition.
