St Albans Striders 12^th January 2020

A double dose of cross country this weekend.

Saturday saw the fourth fixture of the Chiltern League at Keysoe in Bedfordshire. The tough 10k course includes an equestrian water hazard. An accident on the A1 prevented several Striders getting to the race, but the club held on to their 5^th place in the league.

In the men’s race there were strong team performances from Oliver Knight (41st), Will Bowran 45^th, Steve Buckle (52^nd), Doug Hobson (57^th), Gareth Parker (69^th), Richard Evans 75^th, Stephen Hosty 90th, Derek Fowler 116^th, Errol Maginley 123 and Seb Rowe 131.

The ladies were led home by Lucy Jones (11^th), jenny Maginley 19^th, Megan Steer (21^st), Deb Steer (52nd), Wendy Walsh (62^nd), Mandy Attree (75^th).

Sunday League at Whippendell Woods, Watford saw captain Richard Evans again scoring in 36^th, with the rest of the scoring team being Jon Scott (6^th), James Firth (26^th), Graham Smith (28^th) Jordan Lister 37^th, Alex Johnston 87^th, Nigel Aston 92^nd and Richard Davis 99^th. For the ladies Jenny Maginley again scored in 148^th, with the rest of the team being Helen Cartlidge, Deborah Noel, Allie Park Crowne and Ellie Morris.
