Join us for a summer of relay running, racing and rehydrating in the pub!

What an eventful summer it’s been so far!

Our now legendary annual weekend away took place in Swanage during May this year. You can read all about it here in this blog post by Gareth Beavis.

It's great to see runners at every level within the club improving and performing at races, and a number of club records have been broken already this year on the road and on the track.

Meanwhile, a solid performance in the Mid Week League sees us standing at the top of Division 1 after three matches. We really need a big turnout for the final match at Chingford to finish as league champions, more on the fixture below.

There was a large contingent of Striders at the St Albans Half Marathon in early June. The event gave us a chance to show off our brand new Striders gazebo at a sweltering Verulamium Park while our runners swept up the prizes, including Tom Crouch who was the race champion.

Our second Summer Solstice 10k was a huge success, with glowing feedback from runners on the night. Race hosting really does bring us all together as a club in a special way, and there were plenty of emotional moments on the finish line as many people finished their first ever 10k.

Some of those finishers were graduates from Run With Striders who have joined us in ‘Big Striders’ now. Welcome to you all.

Don't forget, it’s everybody’s club – so if you have any ideas or thoughts about how and what we do as a club, or would like to get more involved, please drop me a line or speak to any of the other committee members.

Enjoy the rest of the summer, and hope to see you at Chingford!
