On Saturday 31 Oct, St Albans Striders were involved in a covid-secure Cross-Country event held at Merchant Taylors school.

Fastest for the Striders was Stephen Hosty in 31:16 over a course of almost 5 miles including several water crossings. Only just behind was Joe Weghofer in 31:35 running his first ever cross-country event. Next were Jon Reilly and Derek Fowler, both finishing in an identical time of 31:48 – although the covid-secure format meant there was no head-to-head sprint for the line!

Laura Hicks was fastest lady for the Striders (34:52) also running her first cross-country race for the club. Wendy Walsh was next in 36:24 and also took second place in the W50 category.
