Despite some chilly mornings, Striders were once again out in force this weekend.

There must have been something in the air, as the Personal Bests were certainly racked up.

At the Morecambe Marathon, Callum Bond finished in 3rd place, taking an amazing 8 minutes off his prior PB, with a time of 2:44:01.

Further afield, Steve Scorer completed the iconic Berlin Marathon in a PB of 2:57:04, finishing in the top 50 for his age category.

Catherine O’Conner (1:25:02) and Ivan Ghouse (1:28:56) tackled an undulating course for the Winsdor Half Marathon, with both beating their prior records. As an added bonus, Catherine’s time placed her on the podium as 2nd fastest female.

With even more hills at the Tonbridge Half Marathon, Bex McMurray was just outside her PB. However, she still finished with an impressive time of 1:45:18, and 6th in her category.

This is sure to have set the tone for other records to tumble over the coming weeks.
