JOIN US FOR THE FRED HUGHES 10 MILES ON SUNDAY 23RD JANUARY 2022.
The Fred Hughes 10 is a well established local race, organised by St Albans Striders since 1986. The race is held on the rolling country lanes of Bedmond in St Albans, Hertfordshire. It’s ideal for those looking to kick start their spring marathon training or make the step up from 10k.
Location: St Columba’s College, King Harry Lane, St Albans AL3 4AW
Start Time: 10am (competitors must be able to complete the course in 2hrs 15mins)
Distance: 10 miles
Minimum Age: 18yrs. Age as at 22/01/2022
Open to: Solo Runners
Entry Fee: £20.00 per person (UKA Affiliated) or £22.00 (Unaffiliated). A 6% booking fee will also be added at the checkout.
Entry Limit: 1000 (No entries on the day)
Timing: Chip Timing provided by Event Chip Timing
UKA Licence: Pending
Race Charity: 10% of all race entries will help support our Charity Partner, The Hygiene Bank.

The course starts and a finishes on the green opposite Waitrose on King Harry Lane, St Albans. This is a short walk from the race HQ at St Columba's College.
The route is on paved footpaths and undulating country lanes with several challenging hills. The route is open to vehicle traffic and headphones will not be permitted.

All awards will be presented in the race HQ main hall after the race.
Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the top placed male and female finishers:-

The race also hosts the Hertfordshire County Championships event. The top three eligible runners and teams will be awarded after the open race awards. To be eligible to be included you must either have been born in Hertfordshire or have been a resident in Hertfordshire for at least the last 9 months. You must declare you are eligible as part of the registration process.
Note - We await confirmation on whether the race will be either Senior or Vets championships
