The 2025 season of the Mid-Week Road Race League is nearly upon us, and we want to encourage as many of you as possible to attend.

For those who are not familiar with the competition, it’s a series of races involving other Herts running clubs who compete in a League consisting of 4 division races and a mob match (all 3 divisions running together) at the end (each approx.10k), with a different club hosting each event.

The races are free for any paid-up Striders with EA membership and suitable for all abilities.

Below are the dates for this year's fixtures. More details for each event will be sent out nearer the time.

Wednesday, 21st May, St Albans Striders (7:45pm)

Wednesday, 4th June, Orion (7:45pm)

Wednesday, 18th June, North Herts Road Runners (NHRR) (7:45pm)

Tuesday, 1st July, Dacorum AC (7:45pm)

Wednesday, 9th July, Mob Match – Garden City Runners & Herts Phoenix (7:30pm)

Please sign up here if you would like to run in any of the fixtures (please note that you only need to sign up once).

We will try and issue as many bib numbers as possible prior to the first race (after one of the club nights – to be confirmed). Please note that you must keep your race number for the whole series, so do not throw it away.

Regarding the scoring, there are 6 clubs competing with the first 12 male runners (8 for women), from each club scoring points based on their finish position. Subsequent finishers (13^th, 14^th, and so on) won’t score, but they can push some of the other 12 finishers from the other clubs further down the scoring. There is also a Vets competition, which is scored in a similar fashion and of course, a Mob Match race where all divisions participate.

The important thing is that the event is open to ALL members and a great opportunity to have as many Striders as possible represent the club. The more yellow and blue we can get on the course, the better.

All runners must either wear a Striders vest or the t-shirt, so make sure you get your order in ahead of time if you don't already have one.
