The St Albans Striders Distance Training Runs are back!

Are you an experienced marathon or ultra-marathon runner? Are you new to running or would just like to try a longer, non-competitive run with friends and support? Do you just fancy a nice run on a Sunday morning?

With a planned route of 20 miles on the 25th August, this distance training run has been created to ensure runners of all abilities can join. You can run the whole 20 miles or something shorter or longer! We will have support in place to offer water and encouragement.

Whether you are preparing for an Autumn marathon, trying a new distance run or just trying to get your miles in, these runs provide an opportunity to explore an exciting route that showcases the beauty of the Alban Way and Mill Green.

What to Bring:

  1. Comfortable running gear
  2. Hydration (if required)
  3. Any energy gels/ snacks you will need


The St Albans Striders Distance Training Runs are back with a difference and we need your help to make it happen!

Are you able to help support our latest Distance Training Runs? We are keen to establish regular longer runs for Striders who want to try running longer distances or want long runs to train for other events. We want these events to be open to all Striders and as inclusive as possible. Might you be able to help man a water station or help marshal out on the course?

What to Bring:

  1. Comfortable clothes
  2. Sun Cream
  3. Any drinks or snacks that you might need
  4. Oodles of positivity to help our runners get round the course!
